1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By accessing or using nationalcontractorindex.com (“the Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Site. These terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and contractors who claim or manage a listing.
2. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE
The National Contractor Index is an online directory and registry of licensed trade contractors. Contractor data is sourced from publicly available state licensing board records and supplemented by information provided directly by contractors who have claimed their listings. NCI is a reference tool and does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any listing.
3. USER CONDUCT
You agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically download data from the Site without written permission
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or its systems
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information when claiming a listing
- Impersonate another contractor or business entity
- Use the Site’s data to build a competing contractor directory or database
4. CONTRACTOR LISTINGS & CLAIMED PROFILES
Base listings are generated from public state licensing records and are provided as-is. NCI makes no representations about the accuracy or completeness of base listing data.
Claimed listings are managed by the contractor who has verified ownership. The contractor is solely responsible for the accuracy of any information they add to their claimed profile, including contact details, capabilities, and descriptions.
NCI reserves the right to remove or modify any listing that contains false, misleading, or illegal content.
5. VERIFIED SUBSCRIPTION
The NCI Verified listing subscription is offered at $149 per year per listing. Payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. Subscriptions renew automatically on an annual basis unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time through your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no prorated refunds are issued for partial subscription periods.
NCI reserves the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days advance notice to active subscribers.
6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The National Contractor Index name, logo, design, and original content are the property of NCI and may not be reproduced without written permission. Contractor license data sourced from state licensing boards is public information and is not claimed as proprietary by NCI.
By uploading a company logo or other content to your contractor profile, you grant NCI a non-exclusive license to display that content on the Site.
7. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. NCI DOES NOT WARRANT THAT CONTRACTOR INFORMATION IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, CURRENT, OR RELIABLE. ALL USE OF THE SITE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NCI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE, INCLUDING ANY DAMAGES RESULTING FROM HIRING OR CONTRACTING WITH A CONTRACTOR FOUND THROUGH THE REGISTRY.
NCI’s total liability for any claim arising from use of the Site shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the applicable subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify and hold NCI harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or any content you submit to the Site.
10. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Michigan.
11. CHANGES TO TERMS
NCI may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
